During the fall semester of 2006 the activities concentrate on the Portugese-Spanish region. No decision has been taken on the location of the conference yet.
The topics of the showcase workshops to be held in Portugal and Spain are are still preliminary. Before the start of the Showcase workshops the host partners will submit a detailed position paper annex work plan in which they will identify the precise tasks they will address in their activities during the upcoming semester.
Portugal: Covilhã intends to make its city mobility plan subject to the showcase workshops, articulating different means of transportation, the development of a public transport network, integrating some pedestrian spaces, promoting sustainable mobility, incorporating the experiences the CyberMove project.
Spain: Toledo faces numerous mobility problems: narrow streets, great differences of level, shortage of parkings public. The historical center receives during the day too many cars. The showcase workshop will address the necessity of dissuasive parkings and increase of the non-polluting public transport, like planning a tram that connects east with west.
The topics of the conference still have to be determined. They will relate to the showcase workshops.
